Gamecocks Put Six
On All-ACC Team

North Carolina tailback Don McCauley led the voting
yesterday for the All-Atlantic Coast Conference football team by
UPI and the Atlantic Coast Sports Writers Association. The junior
from Garden City, New York was the seventh leading rusher in
the nation this fall, gaining 1,092 yards, and captured 95 out of a
possible 98 votes.

South Carolina placed the largest number of players on the
conference dream team with six. Only tight end Fred Zeigler
repeated for the league champion Gamecocks.

North Carolina State placed five men, North Carolina four,
Clemson three, Wake Forest and Duke two apiece, and Maryland
one. Aptly enough, Virginia was not represented. Noticeably
missing were the highly touted defensive ends Al Sinesky and
Tom Patton, who were pre-season selections for the all-star team.

Last year's All-ACC team saw four Virginia ball players
listed. They were halfback Frank Quayle, tackle Greg Shelly,
middle linebacker Bob Paczkoski, and guard Chuck Hammer.
