Protest Vote
–Insists that America's
involvement in the Vietnamese
War is unconstitutional;
–Favors the easy admission
of nontraditional parties to the
ballots of the several states;
–Supports consumer
protection:
–Opposes secrecy in
government;
–While standing firmly for
the liberties of the individual
and against interference by
government at any level with
those liberties.
Then, since students are
concerned about such matters,
that party and its candidate
deserve careful consideration
from students, don't they?
The American Party
platform does all of these
things and more. Is it not
worthy of consideration, then?
Especially when the two major
(presumably major, that is)
parties have handed us such a
pair of...persons...as Nixon and
McGovern have shown
themselves to be? Granted that
it will take a near-miracle for
Schmitz and Anderson to win,
is this not the ideal year for a
protest vote, given Nixon and
McGovern as the non-protest
alternatives? Keep in mind that
each of that pair is in fact as
bad as the other man's party
says he is, and remember also
that "the lesser of two evils is
still an evil."
Haven't we had enough of
"lesser evils"? Schmitz, while
still human, is a good man.
