Committee Found Slow

the presence of the President
and Vice-President of the Student
Council at the meetings of the
Board of Visitors appointed of an
ombudsman, a Dean for Students,
more frequent administration-student
meetings to keep both
parties informed o developments,
and, of course, some type of forum
with the Board of Visitors.

Some of these suggestions were
ruled out of the scope of the
committee, the others, simply ruled
out. Action needs to be taken on all
of them either directly by President
Shannon, or through further study
by a committee or committees with
more time and dedication to give to
these problems than this committee
had.

In closing, one fact should be
noted which the committee failed
to observe: according to the information
distributed by the University,
the Board of Visitors is not
a secret or semisecret society. We
look forward to much-needed
further action.
