Four Events Scheduled
At Prism Coffeehouse

Four events are scheduled for
late this week and this weekend at
the Prism Coffee House. A
discussion on drug abuse, evenings
of jazz and folk music, and an
organizational meeting for the
Virgina Folklore Guild will be
open to the general public at the
Rugby Road site.

The discussion on drug abuse is
scheduled for Thursday night,
beginning at 8. The talk, which is
open to the public free of charge,
will be led by students from the
School of Medicine and will be
approached from a medical point of
view.

Friday night at 8, folksinger
Brian Bowers will give a
performance of his talent. Mr.
Bowers, who lives in Richmond, at
one time played with the Flight of
the Ostrich. As a single performer,
he sang here several years ago, and
appeared here again this past
summer. An admission fee of fifty
cents will be charged for the
performance.

A live jazz hour will be
presented on Saturday, beginning at
8.

The Virginia Folklore Guild will
hold its organizational meeting at
the Prism on Sunday, beginning at
3 p.m. Professor Rosenberg of the
University's English department
will work with the guild and help to
establish a working procedure for
the organization. Since the group is
not fully established, immediate
plans have not been announced yet,
but the guild will probably be
musically-oriented. Although
University students are eligible and
encouraged to join, it is expected
that the group will be comprised
principally of adults.
