Need For Aid
demonstrate a further need for
aid.
In response to the vote the
Ivy League reaffirmed Sunday
its policy that financial aid for
all students, including athletes,
be based solely on need and
dissociated itself from the
N.C.A.A.'s decision.
Saying that they hoped to
make their position toward
athletics "crystal clear", the
eight Ivy League school
presidents issued a joint
statement which said that all
eight schools admit men and
women whether or not they
are athletes on the basis of
their potential as students and
provide financial aid only on
the basis of need."
