as well as a specialist."

Through a development of
the "awareness of the
interrelationships of functional
areas of business enterprise,"
the students are educated as
generalists to enable them to
"gain perspective and relevance
of all the areas which when
combined make an ongoing
progression."

In addition to being an
economic consultant for
several banks and insurance
companies, Mr. Sheppard has
taught at various colleges.
Before coming to the
University he was a professor
of economics and Associate
Dean of New York University's
Graduate School of Business
Administration. He was also
the Dean and professor of
Business Administration at the
Graduate School of Business
and Public Administration at
Cornell.

Mr. Sheppard accompanies
his duties as dean with those of
the Executive Director and
Trustee for both the Institute
of Chartered Financial
Analysts and the C.F.A.
Research Foundation.

When not preoccupied with
activities of these offices, Mr.
Sheppard might be found
playing a game of golf, or
pursuing his hobby–the field of
photography. Another love of
his is gardening, though he
finds this activity somewhat
restricted by living on the
Lawn; two of the three levels
of his yard are groomed by
University gardeners. "They
only let me touch one (level),
but at least I have that outlet."
