The University's School
of Medicine announces that
advances in plastic surgery
will be discussed by
Staunton area physicians on
March 7, 6:30 p.m. at
King's Daughters' Hospital.
Dr. Milton T Edgerton,
professor and chairman of
the department of plastic
surgery at the University
will also lecture.
George Rawlings, 1970
Democratic candidate for
the Senate, will speak at
7:30 in the South Meeting
Room of Newcomb Hall
tonight on delegate
selection to the June
Virginia Democratic
Convention.
The Department of
Astronomy will sponsor Dr.
Wallace Tucker, American
Science and Engineering,
today at 2:00 in 110 Gilmer
Hall. His topic will be
"Cosmic X-ray Sources."
As part of the Biology
Seminar, Dr. Anthony San
Pietro of Indiana
University's Department of
Botany will lecture on
"Photosynthetic Electron
Transport" tomorrow at
1:00 p.m. in room 150
Gilmer Hall.
Norfolk area physicians
sponsored by the School of
Medicine will discuss
functions of chest organs
tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at
Norfolk General Hospital
As part of the Chemical
Engineering Colloquia
Series, Dr. Ir. Jan Meis,
from Catholic University of
Louvain, Belgium, will
speak on "The Variable
Structure Concept in
Nonlinear Viscoelasticity."
This will take place on
Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in
room C-49, Thornton Hall.
On March 11th, the
Central Virginia Symphony
Society will present Sidney
Forrest, clarinetist, in a
program of clarinet trios.
