Accidents Claim
Lives Of Four
During Summer
During the summer, accidents
claimed the lives of four University
students. A fifth was killed in
Vietnam.
Thomas Scott Montgomery,
1968 graduate of the College, was
killed in a car accident last July.
Mr. Montgomery was characterized
by some as "one of the finest
athletes ever to take his degree
from the University."
Vincent Craig Foretich, 21, of
Newport News, lost his life three
weeks ago in a car accident. Mr.
Foretich was due to graduate this
June.
Robert George Alexander, 19,
from Springfield, Virginia, died two
weeks ago in another auto wreck.
Mr. Alexander would be a returning
second-year man.
Allan Hamilton Craig, Jr., a
third-year Engineering student from
Norfolk died in another accident
this month.
Finally, Henry Luke Warner, III,
a 1966 Graduate of the college, was
killed in Vietnam in August. Mr.
Warner distinguished himself at the
University as president of Beta
Theta Pi Social fraternity.
