SDS Recognition Denied
In Student Council Decision

George McMillan then introduced
four policy statements for
approval:

1) that the Review Board be
empowered to set and enforce all
dorm visitation rules.

2) that University traffic authorities
deal only with on-Grounds
traffic and parking.

3) that all University files and
records be open to public inspection.

4) that the administration
cease to regulate off-Grounds student
conduct.

These proposals were defeated
as a block after Mr. Brashares
noted that this would contradict
Council's previous stand on the
new 2.0 car plan, and after Foster
Witt pointed out that the financial
files of the University,
as well as of Food Services, were
already accessible.

Immediately after the meeting,
Councilman-elect Walker Chandler
announced to WUVA and
The Cavalier Daily, that he and
fellow Anarchist Charles Murdock
were bilaterally declaring
the above, defeated four-point
program to be the actual policy
of the student body. He indicated
copies would be sent to
President Shannon and the Board
of Visitors.
