Draft Resistance Shows Film

"The Spanish Earth", a
documentary film will be presented
by the Charlottesville Draft
Resistance today at 7 and 8:15
p.m. in Newcomb Hall Ballroom.

Joris Iven's film concerns the
struggle to defend Madrid during
the Spanish Civil War. It features a
narration written and spoken by
Ernest Hemingway, a film score by
Virgil Thompson and Marc
Blitzstein, and screenplay assistance
by John Dos Passos, Lillian
Hellman and Archibald MacLeish.
Admission is one dollar.

Council Forum

An open forum will be held
by several Student Council
members Thursday, November 4 at
7 p.m. in the lounge of Echols
House.

College of Arts and Sciences
representatives, David Horan, Phil
Chabot, Mary Smith, Larry Sabato
and Mike Flock will be present to
answer questions concerning the
Council and its decisions. Those
wishing to voice their opinions on
current problems at the University
will be welcome. Students living
off-Grounds are especially urged to
attend and take the opportunity to
express their feelings.
