Reserved Seating Suggested

dates to other organizations who
would sponsor them. Others
thought that this committee should
put on all of the concerts
themselves if it wanted to be sure
they would be successful.

Those who thought the existing
practice of having a number of
groups sponsor concerts should be
continued suggested that to avoid
competition for dates, the
University Union or the new
Coordinating Committee could
announce in the fall which
week-ends were open.

Organizations could then reserve
the dates they wanted for concerts.
Lesser weekends could be assigned
to smaller organizations.

One student emphasized that
although some concerts would not
be held on big weekends, they
would not necessarily draw smaller
crowds.

"The demand for music at the
University is so great now that a
weekend could be made by a
concert," added another student.

Another student suggested that
since ticket prices at the University
were low in comparison to many
other schools, concert prices could
be raised to pay for more expensive
bands.

Another student suggested that
fraternities could find out when
concerts were scheduled and plan
parties for those dates, since good
bands for these parties are much
easier to book.
