Meeting Ends

committee of graduates and undergraduates
in the department, and
that this was simply a meeting
called to discuss various matters of
concern to graduate students only.
Mr. Jordan refused to consider
allowing the undergraduates to sit
as observers, stating that there
would be no meeting if undergraduates
were present.

At this point the students asked
for a recess to decide upon a course
of action; approximately 90 were
present, 20 of whom were undergraduates.
In a vote in which both
groups were allowed to participate,
the students decided 48-28 to
refuse to agree to Mr. Jordan's
terms. Mr. Jordan then walked out.

Most of the students remained
to discuss possible responses to the
Chairman's action. The group,
however, fearful of being labelled a
rump session, decided to call a
formal meeting of the Government
and Foreign Affairs Association
Thursday night at eight in the
Graduate Student Lounge.
