Madison Hall To Hold
Open Discussion Series
Madison Hall, which operates
the Office of Volunteer Community
Service and Student Legal
Aid, will begin a series of open
discussions this evening at 7 in the
west ground floor of Madison Hall.
These open discussions will operate
under the name "Table Talk" and
will be concerned with the nature
of things - major issues and
problems confronting modern man
and the meaning of existence.
Participants will seek to understand
modern realities in the perspective
of historic Christian understanding.
All members of the University
community are invited to participate.
Those who attend will be
encouraged to express their own
mind on topics that concern them
and to listen to the views of others.
Table Talk will begin Friday
evening, January 9, and will continue
at 7 each evening during
reading week and exams. The
discussions will begin again after
the semester break each evening
Monday through Friday. Students
who are not participating in community
service projects are also
invited to participate.
Generally topics of discussion
will not be announced, since
participants will discuss what is
important to them. A variety of
issues might then be considered in a
given evening. On rare occasions the
topic may be announced, particularly
if there is an especially
pressing issue that would concern
the University community.
Those interested in further information
may call 924-3193 or
visit Madison Hall's office during
the day.
