Placement Office
Distributes Manual

The Office of Placement has announced that its "Placement Manual
1969-70" is presently being mailed to all University degree candidates.
The publication, first of its kind for the University, will provide
information on placement registration procedures, tips on contacting
prospective employers via mail, a comprehensive follow-up of 1968
graduates including salary data, and information on national
examination dates scheduled at the University.

Edgar A. Aldridge, a doctoral candidate in Counselor Education, has
been appointed Associate Director of Placement and Instructor in
Education at the University.

Mr. Aldridge will have the responsibility for developing and
expanding the teacher placement program operated by the Office of
Placement to serve all academic areas and levels. He will concentrate on
the development of a model teacher placement system utilizing
electronic data processing technology. Mr. Aldridge, who has an
extensive background in counseling, will offer a placement program
emphasizing an individual counseling service for placement registrants.

Mr. Aldridge received a Master of Education degree in Counselor
Education from the University in 1967 and holds a Bachelor of Science
in Engineering degree from the U.S. Naval Academy. He has served as
Associate Professor of Naval Science at the University for the past four
years.

A list of organizations scheduling interviews on the Grounds and
information concerning opportunities offered by the several hundred
organizations with interview dates is also included.

Students are requested to complete registration forms in the
Office of Placement prior to signing for interviews. Interviews have
been scheduled by the following organizations in the Office of
Placement, 5 Minor Hall.
