football game. In my opinion
this consumption of alcohol is
indeed much more blatant that
the smoking of marijuana at
U. Hall. Therefore to prohibit
smoking of dope but yet allow
public consumption of alcohol
reeks with hypocrisy, and I
don't think students here will
stand for that.

And if Carey Deeley
actually thinks that these
measures "are being taken to
control the drug problem",
then he is ignorant Harsher
measures are not going to
control the problem at all, but
rather will accelerate it. People
will now smoke before coming
to concerts, will take other
drugs, or, hiding in the vastness
of U. Hall, will continue to
smoke there.

Harsher laws will never
control marijuana or any other
drug, but rather an attempt to
understand different drugs and
the reasons people turn to
them would be a step in the
right direction. Hopefully
Decley and other University
officials will pull their heads
out of the sand before it is too
late.
