John Roche ACC
Player-Of-Year

For the second consecutive year
South Carolina's John Roche has
edged North Carolina's Charlie
Scott for the Player of the Year
award.

Roche polled 51 votes to Scott's
47 while N.C. State's Vann
Williford was third with 16 votes.
Wake Forest's Charlie Davis was the
only other player to receive votes,
with four.

Roche averaged 23.3 points per
game, was credited with 105 assists
and was second to Davis in free
throw accuracy in the conference,
Scott, a senior like Williford, led
the ACC in scoring average and is
one of the top pro prospects in this
year's crop.

Along with teammate Tom
Owens Roche was an outstanding
player for LaSalle Academy in New
York City.
