Flags To Fly
On Saturday

The Interfraternity Council is
sponsoring a banner contest for the
upcoming Virginia Tech football
game, with a keg of beer to be
awarded to the fraternity which has
the best banner and another keg to
be given to the dorm floor with the
premier banner.

Any fraternity or any dorm
floor may enter a banner in the
display, with the only restrictions
being that the sign be no larger than
one regular bed sheet in size and
that no profanity be written on the
banner.

The banners are to be taken to
Scott Stadium on Saturday,
November 6th before noon with
the fraternity entries to be posted
on the east side of the stadium and
the dorm entries to be displayed on
the west side.

The judges for the Openings
Weekend festivities have not yet
been chosen, but the IFC hopes to
get Governor Linwood Holton to
pick the winning entries. If Mr.
Holton is not available, the IFC will
have either Director of Athletics
Gene Corrigan or Football
Co-captains Gary Helman and Andy
Selfridge choose the winners.
