The University of Virginia basketball
team has been ranked 13th
nationally in this week's ratings
announced by the newspaper, Basketball
Weekly.

Basketball Weekly is a Detroit
publication which also puts out the
nationally known Football News
magazine during the fall.

The ratings are compiled by
writer Harry DeVold and based
upon a point system. Virginia was
given a point rating of 79.92. The
leader, UCLA, has an 89.84 mark.

Virginia was just ahead of Kentucky
in DeVold rankings. South
Carolina was second followed in the
Top Ten by Southern California,
Tennessee, Western Kentucky,
Jacksonville, Pennsylvania, Kansas,
Marquette and North Carolina. Just
ahead of the Cavaliers were Villanova
and St. Bonaventure with undefeated
Fordham in 15th place.
