Students To
Choose Name
For 'Topics'

This year may see the end of the
current name by which this journal is
known among the students and faculty
of the University. The Managing Board
of College Topics announced yesterday
that inasmuch as Virginia has grown
from a college, which it was in 1890
when this newspaper began
publication, to a full-fledged University
of the highest order, the name College
Topics is distinctly out of harmony
with the present status of this school.

Sometime next month students will
be able to choose a new name for this
student publication. John Cole, art
editor for Topics, has suggested the
following names for consideration:
Daily Virginia Topics, The Cavalier
Daily, The Daily Virginian, and Daily
Cavalier Topics.

Tradition-minded students will be
able to vote for retention of our
current masthead.
