Records
Being
Assaulted

With passes filling the air
from all angles Saturday, this
year's version of the Wahoo
football team has become the
most prolific passing team in
Virginia history.

The team has set records
for attempts (349),
completions (145) and total
yards (1885). Each of the
records, with the exception of
that for attempts (set in 1971)
was made in 1965. In addition,
the attempt total has set a new
league mark. Of less distinction
is the record for passes
intercepted, which this year's
club now holds with 32.

Dave Sullivan, with seven
grabs against the Tar Heels,
now has 49 for the season
(tying him with Bill Davis).
Sullivan is tied for both the
career and single season
touchdown passes records and
has set marks in career yardage
and receptions. He is also only
13 yards off of Sonny Randle's
single season yardage record.
