Basketballers
Dump Italians

The Cavalier basketball team
scored an easy 130-64 win over and outclassed Italian team Wednesday
night before a crowd of 2,500 in
University Hall.

The game was never close as
Virginia had too much height and
talent for Splugen Gorizia, the
champions of Italy in the under-20
class.

Every man on the Cavalier
roster got a chance to see plenty of
action, and seven different players
hit double figures. Barry Parkhill
led the way with 20 points and 11
assists, followed by Jim Hobgood
with 19, many of them from
outside. Frank DeWitt had 16,
Lanny Stahurski 15, Chip Miller
and Al Drummond 14, and Scott
McCandlish 12.

McCandlish led the rebounders
with 15, followed by Stahurski
with 12.
