Fencers Fall

The Virginia Fencing Team
collided with a debacle Saturday in
Memorial Gym, closing to both
VMI and William and Mary. The
swordsmen dropped their third
match of the season, and now own
an 0-3 record.

VMI overcame the Virginia
Swordmen 12-15, with epeeist Dave
Serosk providing the only
consistent performance. William
and Mary mastered the Virginia
team 7-20 as foilist Steve Hatten
was the only Virginia fencer who
displayed an ability to deny the
Indians their win.

Still looking for their first win
of the season, the Fencers travel to
Lexington this Saturday to meet
the Carolina schools, UNC, NC
State, and Duke, the creme de la
creme of ACC fencing.
