offered the opportunity of
receiving instructions in boxing.
This instruction period will begin at

Coach John W. (Billy) Williams
has been connected with the
University of Virginia boxing for
many years. He was a good boxer in
his youth, and was also the Varsity
and Freshman boxing coach at
Virginia. He was an outstanding
college official and will officiate
all tournament matches.

Instruction will be from 4:30
5:30 P.M., covering the following
areas:

Positions of how to throw
punches.

Positions of blocking and
counter blocking.

Footwork, advancing, retreating,
left and right sparring, bag
punching, shadow boxing exercise,
roadwork and conditioning.

The coach and the Intramural
Department want to emphasize that
beginners are especially welcome
and that special attention will be
given to them. Participation in the
tournament is on a voluntary basis.
