Malletmen Open Season
Against Middleburg Club

By Mark Pirrung
Cavalier Daily Staff Writer

Opposition for the
University polo team has
finally been formalized for the
Middleburg match which is
scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
Sunday at the Farmington
Hunt Club Arena on Garth
Road.

The Middleburg team will
consist of Jake Carl riding one,
rated at one goal; Roger
Rinchart playing two, rated at
one goal; and at three Rob
Rinchart rated at one.
Dick Rimenschneider who was
expected to play Sunday went
down with his pony in a game
Wednesday and cracked his
hip.

Rob Rinehart was captain
of the University team last
spring but has taken a job in
Texas, riding for Ray
Harrington, and will start there
in two weeks. He told the
Cavalier Daily that he
scheduled this game to show
the University club some
pointers before he left for
Richmond and then Texas.

On Monday David Banks
was elected captain for the fall
season and will presumably
ride one on Sunday. Ray
Norton and first-year man
Reid Graham will join Mr.
Banks in this test of the
University's strength.

In the past, the Sunday
polo games have become
almost a tradition for
University students and their
dates to spend a relaxing
Sunday afternoon after the
hectic "night before"
