Track men Run
At VMI Relays
Cavalier trackmen placed in
three events in the VMI Relays at
Lexington. Saturday, but came
away with two serious injuries
which may hurt the team for the
rest of the season.
Top performer for the team in
the meet was Jim Shannon who
leaped 23′ 3″ in the broad jump
to take second place, nine inches
behind winner Jerry Gaines of Va.
Tech.
In the shot put Al Sinesky came
up with a 51′10″ toss to take fifth
place.
In the Hurdle Shuttle Relay, the
Cavalier team of John Heagle, Fred
Campbell, Bob Bischoff, and Dave
Smith were clocked at 32.2 to tie
the Citadel for fourth place.
