Kennelly Sparks Hoopsters,
Provides Good Ball Control

After having been out of action
with glandular fever, number 43
stepped onto the court for the first
time in six weeks to resume his
play at guard slot. Though the Cavayearlings
were thumped in this
match, the first Carolina game, the
the backcourt speedster routinely
dropped in 16 points without a
day's practice prior to the game.
For number 43, Kevin Kennelly,
it was a typical performance.

Much of whatever success the
Cavayearling cagers have had can
be directly attributed to the 6′
speedster from Charlotte, N.C.
in every game that Kennelly has
played, he, along with the sometimes
erratic Bill Gerry, has led
the offensive attack for the
fledgling hoopsters.

Kennelly came to the University
following a glittering career at
Myers Park High School in
Charlotte.

At Virginia, Kennelly has scored
at a clip slightly in excess of 17
a game, and ranks only
behind center Gerry in this department.
It is not as a scorer,
though, that Kennelly most makes
his presence known, but as a ball-handler.
And as a ball-handler,
he is quite effective.
