ATO Trounces AEPi; Remains Undefeated

By Sandy Prater

ATO followed up on its 60-6
mauling of Delta Sig of last week
by drubbing AEPi 45-0 to remain
undefeated in the highlight of Monday's
High Point League action.
Leading the victors were Bubby
Smith, who scored two TDs and
Art Kirk, who scored one touchdown
and added three extra points.

Equally impressive was Pi Kap
with a 34-0 victory over the winless
Delta Sigs. Jay Ventura and
Bill Horner were the mainstays in
the attack, as each scored two
tallies to lead the undefeated Pi
Kaps.

Perennial powerhouse Zete remained
unbeaten by toppling
ZBT, 19-6, and Phi Kap also
kept its unblemished record intact,
but by a somewhat easier method
as won its second game of the
season by forfeit.

Rebounding from its opening
game upset loss, SPE, last year's
High Point League football
champs, conquered SAE, 19-6 in
a rugged battle.

Theta Chi remained undefeated
by squeaking past TKE 6-0 on
Steve Bolton's touchdown, but
previously undefeated Sigma Pi
did not fare so well as it was
mowed down by KA 16-0.

Rick Donlan's TD and safety
were the only scores for Sigma Chi,
but they proved sufficient as Chi
Psi fell, 8-0. Phi Sig was blanked,
as well, as they were defeated by
Sigma Nu, 19-0.

Leroy Smith's 93-yard pass interception
for a touchdown in the
waning minutes of the game gave
Beta the six-point margin it needed
to defeat Chi Phi, 19-13.

Following Monday's games, six
teams are still undefeated in League
play. St. A, Theta Chi, Pi
Kap, Zete, ATO, and Phi Kap
have yet to be beaten.
