Rejected Martha Questions Rinaca's Sex

Mitchell was reported
contributed by a University
alumnus and "laundered"
through a bank in Camden,
N.J.

Council members flatly
denied allegations of coercion
and indicated they would
release a statement on that
matter immediately. A
committee has been set up to
investigate the incident.

From Carr's Hill came the
word that University President
Edgar F. Shannon Jr. expressed
"deep concern and sympathy"
over the incident.

Mr. Mitchell reportedly told
Crozet police that he had been
tipped off by his wife, Martha,
that the front existed. Mrs.
Mitchell reportedly told her
husband that she had tried to
seduce Council President Jim
Rinaca, "and when he refused
my advances, I immediately
became suspicious of his
masculinity."

However, in a phone call to
The Cavalier Daily last night,
Mrs. Mitchell denied the
reports. "You people are just
picking on John again," she
said.

"I moved to Charlottesville
for the winter just for some
peace and quiet, and what do I
get? You newsmen, and
particularly college students
are all alike," she declared.
