In Final Poll
To the surprise of
absolutely no one, UCLA's
undefeated Bruins were
awarded their third consecutive
national poll title in the final
balloting of United Press
International's board of
coaches.
UCLA gathered in all 35
first place votes while
second-ranked N.C. State got
all but two second-place votes.
Maryland, the ACC's NCAA
representative, finished tenth
with NIT-bound North Carolina
falling to 12th.
