USC, Sooners Still
Lead UPI Top-20

Although Oklahoma
continues to close in, Southern
California still clung fast to the
nation's number one ranking in
the United Press International
Poll released yesterday.

Immediately in arrears of
the Trojans and Sooners are
undefeated powers Ohio State
and Alabama, each getting one
first place vote while
Oklahoma pulled down 11 and
USC 22.

Old favorite Nebraska holds
down fifth spot with Michigan,
LSU, Notre Dame, Washington
and Texas falling behind and
rounding out the first ten. All
Top Ten teams save the
Cornhuskers are, as of now,
still undefeated.

Making their initial
appearances this week are Top

Force and Stanford, all
scattered thoughout the second
