Sullivan Named
Lineman Of Week

Dave Sullivan, Cavalier flanker,
was named Atlantic Coast
Conference Lineman of the Week
Tuesday following the victory over
N.C. State in Raleigh Saturday.

Sullivan made a diving grab of a
Larry Albert pass in the end zone
against the Wolfpack to give the
Cavaliers the touchdown that
provided the margin of victory.

The 6-1, 195-pound
fourth-yearman was the leading
Cavalier receiver last season, but has
been hampered for most of this
season by a foot injury.

Despite his injuries, he has
caught 15 passes thus far for 141
yards, second on the team behind
Bill Davis.

In addition to his
second-quarter score, Sullivan
gained 15 yards on an end-around
play in the first quarter to keep the
first Wahoo scoring drive alive.

This was the first time Sullivan
has been named to the Conference
offensive honor, although he was
named sophomore of the week last
year after being redshirted while a
second-yearman.

Last season Silky, as he is
known to his teammates, caught 37
aerials for 523 yards, the fourth
best season ever for a Cavalier pass
catcher. He has moved to seventh
on the all-time Cavalier list this
season, with 52 total grabs for 664
yards and with two years left has a
good shot at Frank Quayle's record
of 1145 yards.

Sullivan, from Steelton, Pa. is
enrolled in the School of
Education.
