Cheerleading
Tryouts Near
Those people who are interested
in being cheerleaders next year,
take heed. The try-outs for the
1971-72 cheerleading squad will
take place this coming Monday and
Thursday, May 10 and 13.
Between the hours of three and
six on these days, anyone who
wants to try-out should come to
the tennis courts and have their
moves and enthusiasm evaluated.
There are several openings for the
best.
To decide who exactly is the
best, there has been a change in the
judging personnel. As opposed to
past inclination to vote for one's
friend, this year's panel will be
made up of impartial judges. To
date basketball coach Bill Gibson,
and unannounced member of the
football coaching staff, athletic
representatives, and a few alumni
are scheduled to be on the panel.
There are many openings in the
twenty member squad. So any guy
or girl who wants to be a
cheerleader should come down and
tryout. You have nothing to lose
and a good chance of making the
squad.
