Three Recruits Signed

The Cavaliers signed three
top basketball prospects last
week, as two Pennsylvania
all-staters and a Long Island
star inked grants-in-aid.

Dan Gerard and Dan
Bonner, both 6-7 forwards
became the first high schoolers
to sign. Gerard averaged 24
points and 18 rebounds in
leading his team to a 21-3
record last season, while
Bonner, who holds 20
individual records at
Avonworth High School in
Pittsburgh, including 1,416
career points and 1,174
rebounds, led his team to their
third championship in three
years as a starter.

According to Cavalier head
coach Bill Gibson, "They are
both bona fide ACC players
and should give our program a
tremendous boost." Both were
highly sought after.

First year coach Dick
DiBiaso calls the third player
the best guard on Long Island.
He is Brian Tulley, who had
averaged 15 points a game for
his last two years, leading his
team to a 37-3 record. Mr.
DiBiaso adds that he is "a team
leader with a super attitude. He
handles the ball well, has
excellent shooting potential
and knows how to handle a
team."
