Fourteen Teams Pace
High Point Basketball

High Point basketball
returned to action with 12
games being played Tuesday
night. The races remain close
after only two regular season
games.

Delta Sig retained a share of
the lead in Division A as they
rolled over Theta. Chi 49-37. In
first place with Delta Sig is PEP,
who defeated Beta 35-31; and Phi
Delt, who received a forfeit from
SPLIBS. The only other Division A
game say Phi Gam survive a second
half surge to hand Sigma Pi a 53-51
setback.

Division B leaders Sigma Nu,
Sigma Chi, and St. Anthony's all
emerged victorious. Sigma Nu
completely destroyed Tke 55-25
while Sigma Chi walloped Phi Kap
45-17 and St. Anthony's defeated
St. Elmo's.

There was no action in Division
C however four teams currently
hold the lead. PiKA remains
undefeated along with ATO, SPE,
and PiKap. Fifth place is also a four
way tie with Chi Phi, SAM, Chi Psi,
and DKE. Phi Sig is in last place but
remains an unknown quantity
having yet to play a game.

Four first place teams continues
their winning ways in Division D.
AEPi edged out SAE 43-40 in a
hard fought contest. Using balanced
scoring and strong rebounding, Zete
ran up the highest point out put of
the night to defeat DU 68-24. KA
defeated DTD while Kappa Sig
upended PI Lam.

The high scorer in overall action
was Delta Sig's Gesk, who tallied 25
of his teams 49 points. Phi Gam's
Butler tied with Kappa Sig's Austin
for second honors with 18 points
each.

After two regular season games
14 of the original 34 teams remain
undefeated and one team has yet to
play its first game.
