Wahoos Add To Statistics

More entries were made in the
Cavalier gallery of all time greats
last Saturday when Colgate was
being rolled 54-12. In team records
a total scoring record for one
quarter was set when Blackie's
Wahoos tallied 35 points in the
second quarter.

Bill Troup continued his
spectacular rise through the all-time
Wahoo ranks with 10 of 18 pass
completions for 166 yards and four
touchdowns. His four TD passes tied
a record set by Bob Davis and tied
by Gene Arnette for most in one
game.

Bob Bischoff and Dave Sullivan,
Troup's favorite receivers, have also
improved. Bischoff needs two
yards to surpass John Pincavage's
second place ranking on the career
reception yardage list and is within
95 yards of Frank Quayle's first
place total of 1,145 yards. Sully
only caught one pass which wasn't
called back but he maintained his
fourth place season reception
yardage ahead of Bischoff with 514
yards. Bischoff is fourth with 440
yards.

In rushing statistics Gary
Helman's 120 yards moved him
into fifth place in the ACC while
Jim Lacey maintained seventh
place. In team stats the major
change was Virginia's loss of the
pass defense lead, which was
usurped by Duke's Blue Devils who
have allowed 12 fewer passing yards
for an average of 129.9 a game.
