Cheerleader
Tryouts
May 5th

At a meeting last Thursday
night, the cheerleaders elected
Hugh Antrim and Henry Bowden as
their co-captains for 1970-71, and
set the dates for try-outs for next
year's squad.

Preliminary try-outs will be held
on Tuesday, May 5th, and Thursday,
May 7th, at 6:30 p.m. in front
of Memorial Gymnasium. Those
who wish to be cheerleaders are
expected to know and be able to
sing "The Good Old Song," plus be
able to give an original cheer. As an
added attraction for the tryouts
this year, each applicant will be
asked to perform a specific acrobatic
lift with one of the girl
cheerleaders.

From these original try-outs, a
select number will be chosen to
return for a second audition and
interview. These spring try-outs are
for the male positions opening up
on the squad through graduation.
Any first, second, or third-year man
is eligible to apply. Next fall, the
cheerleaders will again conduct a
search for qualified female members
for the cheerleading squad.
