IM Softball Roundup
Stumblefoot Time
ATO, Pi Kap, Theta Chi, Sigma
Pi, Chi Phi have emerged as the
favorites to capture the softball
playoffs that begin next week. Each
of these teams is leading its
respective division with the Pi Kaps
and the ATOs in a deadlock in
Division 4.
The final games of the regular
season were held Monday and
Tuesday. Kappa Sig, in a battle
with Phi Gam and Sigma Chi for
second place in Division 1, defeated
SAE 6-2. Theta Chi closed out its
regular season by edging Phi Sig,
2-1, and Beta took TKE, 4-2.
Tuesday afternoon, SAE
rebounded to tie Sigma Chi, 4-4,
and Beta scored its second victory
in two days, this time over Theta
Chi, 5-3. TKE won its first game of
the season over Theta Delt, 6-4, and
Phi Sig moved its record up to 4-3
by taking Kappa Sig, 6-3.
In a playoff of a tie game, ZBT
scored three runs in the second extra
inning to defeat Phi Kap, 3-0. All
divisional ties that will affect next
week's playoffs will be held today
or tomorrow.
The Stumblefoot Derby,
annually the pledges' joy, will be
run this afternoon over a three mile
course that begins in Bonnycastle
Field and winds through a
treacherous route around Alderman
Road and the dorm area.
