For Va-UNC Game
Male Battles Sellout
Because of the large overflow of
Tuesday night's crowd who came to
see the Virginia-North Carolina
Atlantic Coast Conference scrap
and the fact that the doors were
locked early, numerous incidents
arose which had to be pacified in
one manner or another.
This rather ignoble task fell
upon the experienced shoulders of
Bus Male, the University's assistant
athletic director.
99 per cent of the urgent
messages that Bus responded to
that night were of a tedious but
necessary nature; telling friends,
strangers and students alike that
there was no possible way of
getting in to University Hall unless
they had a ticket. Incidentally, Bus
was only able to glimpse one
minute of the actual ball game
itself.
Three girls approached him
identifying themselves as North
Carolina students, having driven
from Chapel Hill that evening. The
spokesman for the group, a pretty
unidentified blond, asked Bus how
they could get tickets to be ad-
mitted explaining their predicament.
Bus gently explained the
overflow situation.
The blond emotionally exclaimed,
"Oh sir, if you would
only let us in, I'll kiss you on top of
your bald head." Bus, who as most
people are aware is somewhat devoid
of hair on the crown of his
head, bushed visibly but didn't
weaken.
