Weekend To Provide
Variety Of Activities

In its last home appearance of
the season, the Virginia gymnastics
team faces Old Dominion
this Saturday in Memorial Gym
at 2:00 p.m. Old Dominion accepted
the invitation only on the
conditions that the Cavaliers would
travel to Norfolk for a return
match February 23rd.

The high spirit that has prevailed
on this hard working squad,
considering its 1-5 record, was exemplified
by the team's vote to
give up the Saturday of Midwinters
to compete.

At 3:00 p.m. Saturday there will
be a lacrosse scrimmage in the
cage at University Hall pitting the
Cavaliers against Washington
& Lee. Spectators are invited to
view the contest which will be the
first ever to be held indoors.

As a preliminary to its regular
NCAA competition, the Virginia
fencing team meets two prep
schools in Staunton this Saturday.
The swordsmen meet Augusta
Military Academy and Staunton
Military Academy in the pre-season
match.

In foil the Virginia team will
feature Captain Rick Lasser, All-Conference
pick last year, with
bright newcomers Steve Hatten
and Dave Sereskie.
