Laxmen Still Third In Poll,
Bluejays, Turtles Top Dogs

Despite Saturday's 11-9
victory over Navy, the Cavalier
lacrosse team remained
entrenched in the third spot in
the latest United States
Intercollegiate Lacrosse
Association poll.

Ranked ahead of the
Wahoos in the pollsters' esteem
were undefeated Johns
Hopkins, which received seven
first-place votes and 178
points, and Maryland, which
garnered the remaining two
first-place votes and 172
points. Virginia picked up 163
points, while the Middies
followed with 153.

Terps Topple Cadets

The Blue Jays follwed up
their April 14 victory over the
Cavs with a 14-9 downing of
seventh-ranked Rutgers, while
the Terrapins, whose loss to
the 'Hoos in the Hero's
tourney technically does not
count in the standings, bombed
Army, 23-8.

W&L Unbeaten

Washington & Lee, which
joins Hopkins and Maryland as
the only teams unbeaten in
intercollegiate play, checked in
at number eight after a 26-7
pasting of Duke, and a 14-8
felling of Washington College.
