Grid Coach Hired,
Lawrence Raids Duke

Head football coach Don
Lawrence announced last week
the hiring of Joe Robinson.
The 31-year old native of
South Carolina is the final
addition to Coach Lawrence's
staff for the coming fall
campaign.

Robinson played his college
ball at UNC and began
coaching in Chapel Hill after
getting his masters there.

Before coming to Duke,
Robinson had coached at
Army and VMI.

At Duke, the ACC's leading
defensive team this year,
Robinson was the defensive
line coach.

Lawrence, commenting on
this final addition to a staff
radically overhauled from last
year, noted "Joe learned his
football well at North Carolina,
and he has had experience
under outstanding coaches. We
know he can do a great job for
us here."
