Frats Compete For High Point Trophy
By JANE CLOSE
Standings, thus far, for High
Point Touch Football, an
inter-fraternity intramural
activity, have resulted in an
eight-way tie for first place
among its four divisions.
Division "A" Is Tough
Leading Division "A" with
a 2-0 record, are Phi Gama, Pi
Kappa, SPE, and Pika. Theta
Delt and SAM trail these top
contenders with a record of
0-1, while Sigma Nu, PeP, and
Delta Sig are low with an 0-2
count.
"A" Division competition
could be tough as indicated by
the first game results. Pika
romped over PeP 31-0, while Pi
Kappa produced a 20-0 victory
over the Sammies. Phi Gam let
a tally through but still
managed a 26-12 win as SPE
barely edged Delta Sig 7-6.
"B" Led By Phi Psi And AEPI
Division "B" appears more
evenly matched, boasting only
a two-way tie for top between
Phi Psi and AEPi. Vying for
No. 2 in this division are St.
Elmo, Phi Delt, which was
1971-1972 champ, and TKE,
each holding a 1-1 record. Low
on the pole are SAE and DU
with 0-2.
"C" Is Weakest Division
St. Anthony's and DKE lead
Division "C." Not too far
behind, with 1-1 records, are
Phi Sig, Sigma Phi, Chi Psi, and
Kappa Sig. Trailing them are
Sigma Chi and Beta. Not much
trouble is expected from this
division as the leaders,
themselves, have scored only
four times against their
opponents in their first two
games.
First place in Division "D"
is held by Zete. Running a
close second, with a 1-0 record,
is Chi Phi, and tying for third
place are Theta Chi and Phi
Kap.
Games Played Everyday
Each team will play an
average of seven games. These
will be played everyday at 4:15
and will run until Oct. 23rd.
