The Pigskin Prognosticators
are back again with their
prolific picks for the weekend
with a new trio of leaders.
Several key contests are on this
week's slate and the predicted
outcomes are split.

The board goes 7-3 in favor
of Tennessee over Alabama and
Florida State over Memphis
State. All the other games,
with the single exception of
Wake over Clemson, are
one-sided. Dook is a heavy
favorite over N.C. State, with
only Hugh Antrim refusing to
concede the Wolfpack's next
loss. Notre Dame also is
favored by the same odds, as
Winston Wood (who's in the
army now, to coin a phrase) is
the lone dissenter. Tulane and
VMI are both underdogs to
their respective visiting
opponents, UNC and William &
Mary, respectively.

Sports Editor Davis
Marshall, deeply mired in last
place, picks Colgate against
Princeton and the rest of the
world because he figures it will
be the only way he'll get any
recognition anymore. In the
two remaining gridiron scraps
Auburn and LSU are picked to
annihilate their respective
opponents. Georgia Tech and
Kentucky.
