ATO, SPE Remain
In Unbeaten Ranks
By Mike DeCamps
Cavalier Daily Staff Writer
Another nerve shattering night
of IM roundball took place Tuesday
night, and things are pretty much
still the same as far as team
standings go. Phi Gam, led by Rick
Brand and Bill Buck, continues to
sit atop the A division with a 5-0
record, after downing Sigma Chi,
47-39. Buck and Brand combined
for 28 of the Phi Gam points, each
getting 14 apiece.
Elsewhere in Division A, BETA
continued in second place by
overcoming Pi Kap, 58-38 behind a
14 point performance by Bart
DeForrest. Delta Sig, getting 14
points from Harry Malleod nipped
TKE, and Theta Delt trounced
Sigma Phi 55-22 behind a balanced
scoring attack from all five starters.
In Division C, SPE continued to
sport an unbeaten record as it
ripped St. Elmo 45-22 with Harry
Nolland leading all scorers for the
night with 24 points. ATO, with 19
points from Rick Dygve, remained
tied with SPE at the top.
In other games in Division C,
Phi Delt defeated Chi Phi 56-48,
and Kappa Sig dumped ZBT 45-40.
Bruce Cogwill bagged 18 points for
the Phi Delt's, and Paul Lyles
shot 12 for the Kappa Sig's.
Sigma Nu and Zete continued to
fight for the lead in Division D as
the Zetes stomped Phi Kap 60-31
and Sigma Nu toppled PEP, 53-41.
Tyler Harris ripped the punts for 18
big ones for the Zetes, and Harry
scored 13 for Sigma Nu.
Mike Murphy's 18 point effort
enabled Phi Psi to trounce SAM,
73-32, and Harry Anderson's 21
points for Phi Sig helped finish off
Pi Lam, 52-39, despite 23 points by
Pi Lam's Harry Gergonais.
