Theta Chi Wins
Sporting gay baseball jerseys,
Theta Chi defeated ATO yesterday
8-0 for the IM slow-pitch
tournament championship. Although
neither team scored in the
first inning, Theta Chi's Paul Medford
hit a triple in the second and
scored on a double by Charlie
Wellmeyer. Wellmeyer then scored
on an error making the score
2-0 at the end of the second inning.
Due to fine pitching exhibited
by both teams, neither was able
to score until the fifth inning,
when Theta Chi took advantage
of two errors and scored two runs.
While ATO was again held scoreless
in the sixth, Theta Chi loaded
the bases and then scored three
runs on another ATO error.
Neither team scored in the final
inning and Theta Chi emerged with
a decisive, but nevertheless hard-fought
victory.
In the consolation championships,
Phi Gam took the title by
defeating Phi Delt 16-15 in perhaps
the closest game of the season.
Although Phi Delt was behind
15-3 in the early part of the
game, they managed to score 12
more points in 6 innings of play.
