Torts Decision Barristers In Law Finale

By Sandy Prater

Led by Pat Vaughan and Donny
Moses, the Torts, the third year
Law team topped the second year
Law combine, the Barristers 13-0,
to capture the football championship
in the Independent A League.
Vaughan, who scored 34 points
in the semifinal, was once again
the offensive leader for the Torts
in their victory.

In the High Point League, some
of the confusion of Division C
was heightened by PiKA's upset
victory over previously undefeated
Phi Kap. Greer Jackson once again
led PiKA as the game was decided
in an overtime, with PiKA gaining
more yardage in the period
to edge Phi Kap, 13-12.

In another Division C game.
Chi Phi stopped PEP 12-6 to win
its fifth game of the season. Bill
Dandridge scored on the last play
of the game to give Chi Phi the
victory.

With Chi Phi and PiKA both
winning, a three way tie for second
place was forced in Division C,
with the winner of PiKA-Chi Phi
playing Beta for the second place
berth in the playoffs.

In Division B, PiKap defeated
Sigma Pi 19-0 to gather sole possession
of second place in that
Division. Mike Chewning, a standout
for PiKap all season was once
again the star for Pi Kap in their
decisive win.
