IM Unbeaten Ranks Thin Out

SPE proved Monday why it was
last year's High Point League
football champion as it completely
overwhelmed previously undefeated
Zete, 25-6.

Quarterback Frank Lucas, who
directed a highly effective SPE
passing attack, and Brad Armstrong,
with two TDs to his credit,
were instrumental in the SPE victory,
which saw Zete held scoreless
until the last play of the game.

In another important game,
ATO squeaked by Pi Kap 13-12
to remain undefeated and thereby
to hand Pi Kap its first loss. The
game ended in a 12-12 ti, but ATO
was pronounced the victor by
virtue of the fact that it gained
one more yard in the overtime
period.

Elsewhere around the League,
SAE got its offense to jell as it
crushed Sigma Chi, 29-6 for its
fourth victory. Bobby Snoddy, a
defensive standout all year, became
the offensive hero as he scored
three tallies to lead SAE.

Phi Kap remained undefeated,
with a resounding 18-0 victory over
a strong Chi Phi team. Danny
Moses, at quarterback, provided
the offensive spark, as Phi Kap
won its fifth contest of the season.

Once-defeated Theta Chi, a surprise
power this season, remained
in contention, as it barely edged
ZBT, 6-0. Jim Loughman's marker
proved to be sufficient in a really
rugged contest.

Sigma Nu evened its record at
3-3 as it nipped KA 6-0. Mike
Sheer intercepted a KA flat pass
and returned it all the way for
the lone score of the game.

Joe Haddock's extra point gave
TKE a one point margin for victory,
as Chi Psi fell 13-12, and PEP
handed St. Elmo its fifth defeat
of the season with a 19-6 victory,
as Jonathon Harris provided
the offensive spark.
