Virginia's first-year football
team opened their season last Friday
with an impressive 24-0 victory
over the Baby Gobblers of Virginia
Tech. Coach Jim Alderman
thought the game was a complete
team effort.
The offense racked up 379 yards
in total offense, while the defense
limited the Gobblets to minus
forty yards rushing and intercepted
three VPI passes.
This Friday afternoon the Cavayearlings
face the North Carolina
Tar Babies. The Tar Babies
will show what varsity coach Bill
Dooley has recruited for the grid
future at North Carolina. The
Tar Babies are expected to have a
good team, and this game should
show just how good the Yearlings
are.
