Proposal For The Banks

It might be effectively
argued, as well, that this
system would only make the
big banks bigger at the expense
of the small banks. Once again,
federal foresight could prevent
this. One manner that banks
presently obtain their assets is
through deposits of federal tax
money. While drafting a
formula for a more even
distribution of these monies
would be complicated, it
should not prove overly
burdensome. Even though this
would hurt many of the larger
banks by decreasing their
assets, they would then be
given more incentive to use
imaginative executive talents
and more efficient procedures.
This would be a boon 'to the
industry as a whole and also
the American people.

While restructuring society,
and particularly its economic
framework, is a difficult task,
and one not without an
element of risk involved, the
ideas presented here are
suggestions for the solution
bringing both minority and
small business interests into the
mainstream of business.
