Lawrence
Inks Three
Pigskin Stars
Head football Coach Don
Lawrence brought himself
within one of his 38-man limit
for recruits with the recent
signings of three high school
prospects.
The biggest of these in every
way is Rick Switalski of
Cleveland, Ohio. Switalski, a
6-5, 250 lb. tackle from
Benedictine high school,
earned all-state honors and was
the object of several coaches'
recruiting efforts.
Switalski's talents are not
limited to the gridiron, though,
as he ranks first in a class of
133 and has been known to
throw the shot more than 58
feet.
Also affixing their signatures
to grants-in-aid were Jim Webb
of Silver Spring, Md. and Frank
Morris of Hyde Park, N.Y.
Webb, a 6-2 195 lb. receiver,
caught 40 passes for Sherwood
High School this fall despite
sitting out two games because
of injury.
The 6-1, 195 lb. Morris can
play either fullback or
linebacker.
